First Snow!

Central Texas got a lot of snow today and it's still coming down! Two days ago we were in the 70s and look at us now!

Audrey heading out to see her first snow

She prefered to stay on the patio

Daddy took her out again when he got home. Hey- no shoes?!

That's better!
He knew he would hear from the Grandmas if he didn't bundle her up!

Then Audrey's sweet Daddy made her a snowman!
It was a first for both of them.

Here you see his first and second attempts.

Sick Audrey, Sad Mommy :-(

My poor baby has been sick for about two weeks! First she had a cold that lasted about a week and a half. She was miserable. Couldn't sleep well and trouble breathing out of her runny nose. We spent many nights cuddling on the sofabed when she couldn't sleep. Chris and I caught it too, so we all felt pretty terrible.

After she finally got over her cold she got a stomach virus! I feel so bad for her. She's hardly eating or drinking and can't keep anything down. The first few days of it she just wanted to lay around and be held, which is not like her at all. Now she's feeling better and her spirits are up, but the symptoms haven't improved much. Doc said it would probably last several more days. Seeing my baby like this breaks my heart. :-(

But the picture cracks me up :-)

***UPDATE***

1. I suggest all new mommies put a Hoover SteamVac Dual V carpet cleaner on their baby registries. This bad boy get all the puke out in minutes and the stink is gone!

2. Now I can't feed her (not like she's eating anyway) without imagining what the food will look like when it comes back up. I wonder how long this is going to last??? Terrible images in my mind, but they don't even compare to the real thing!

Grocery Cart

Our strange child doesn't actually push her grocery cart around the house. She prefers to climb in it to get a better view out the window. Here she is having a little snack in her grocery cart. Amazingly, she hasn't tipped it over....yet.

Chatterbox

Audrey's becoming a little chatterbox. Here's what she can say...

  • Hi
  • Bye (waves and walks away. she really gets this concept)
  • Baby (pulls up my shirt and points and my pregnant belly. also does this to herself and her daddy. it's adorable!)
  • Thanks (when you hand her something, but only if you're lucky)
  • Da-da (what about mama!?)
  • Uh-oh (sometimes when she falls)
  • Apple (she just said this a couple times the other day)
  • Bat (this word was in one of her books, but she picked up on it for some reason. doesn't know what it means though)
  • She carries around a dead cordless phone (I accidently murdered it in the wash, but now I'm glad I kept it) and has 30 minute conversations. She paces like I do when I'm on the phone. She also says "hi", "hey", "bye", and randomly laughs like the other person said something funny. The rest is just jibberish.
  • When you have a conversation with her she gets really serious. She looks you in the eye and babbles, but appears to be saying something very important. She knows to let you speak, then she responds again. This can go on for quite some time.

15 month well check

Audrey had her 15 month check up in the beginning of January. Nothing too noteworthy, other than how big she's getting! When we're out and about and meet other kids I'm always shocked that she's about the same size as a two year old. The other day at Gymboree Chris swears another mom looked at him like an idiot when he told her Audrey was 16 months old, like he must have been mistaken. Poor guy's getting a bad wrap. Anyway, here are her numbers..

Height: 32 inches, 90th percentile
Weight: 23 pounds 10.8 ounces, 60th percentile
Head Circumference: 47 centimeters, 80th percentile.

January

I know, it's been a long time since we've posted pics. Having an active toddler and a tired, preggy mommy makes the blog fall by the wayside. But here we are...

Audrey has a strange obsession with dipping these wooden letters into cup shaped toys and then sucking on them. Yum!

We got Audrey this "climber" a little before her birthday in October. It's a big plastic box with a platform to climb on then you go down the slide. She just started playing with a few weeks ago and can't get enough of it. The giant teddy bear is there to catch her when she falls off the platform. But after enough bonks on the head, she's finally beginning to fear gravity and the teddy is now out of the box. She only follows a few directions, but "Audrey, go get on your slide." is one thing that she definitely understands. She also knows "get on your bike", "get your milk", "get your shoes", and "let's go upstairs/downstairs"

In front of our Christmas tree
Grandma and Grandpa Wood got her this circus tent for Christmas. She loves to play in it and play peek-a-boo through the window and door.

She found a little cutout at the top of her slide to sit on. I don't know why she finds it so comfortable, but it's one of her favorite hangouts.

Audrey and her friend, Molly, taking a break

Audrey's friend, Jace

We found a little petting zoo just down the street. Daddy had to feed the animals for us because Audrey just wanted to eat their food and mommy didn't want to get slobbered on. We'll go back when she's older.
