August Celebrations

Last week we had a very busy trip to Houston. Aunt Erika and Uncle Adam (Amber's brother) had a baby shower on the 15th, which was also Erika's birthday. They are expecting their first child, Caleb, on October 14th, just days after Audrey's first birthday. We can't wait to meet him! The next day was Grandpa Messick's (Amber's Dad's) birthday. A very special treat was that Audrey's Great Grandma and Great Grandpa Messick, Great Aunt Sally, and Great Uncle Rick all came from Nebraska to visit for a week. The great grandparents celebrated their 60th anniversary on the 19th! We were so happy to see them again and to introduce them to Audrey. Chris also celebrated his birthday on the 21st while we were in Houston.

Daddy's 32nd birthday

Poor guy...all he got was a card. He couldn't wait until his birthday to open his box set of instructional videos on how to kick butt using various martial arts weapons. The boys better watch out!

It's always fun to have the cousins together again. Uncle Allen put a bunch of pictures on his blog (The Scarrow Family) which we have a link to over on the right.

Audrey's 1st YouTube Video

It's difficult to get a video of Audrey nowadays, since she goes for the video camera as soon as she sees it.

Play Time

Daddy, come play with me!

Audrey modeling our new couch. We got a sofabed for the loft since we have more visitors now.

Playing with Daddy

As soon as Audrey started crawling we got her this 6 foot tunnel.

Audrey has a wooden puzzle, but all she does with it is chew on the wooden knobs.

Playing in her little house...which I think is haunted. The doorbell randomly rings and the clock chimes throughout the day.

When we're playing up in the loft, Audrey likes to look down and see Daddy.

Audrey loves looking out the windows on either side of the front door. They're lower, so she can see out of them easily. The only problem is that toddlers and babies all seem to know how to touch them just right to make all the slats come tumbling out! Unfortunately, the blinds are fixed and can't be raised up.

Audrey loves her books! She giggles when we read the animal books to her and make the animal sounds, but quite often she just flips through them on her own. We keep her board books under this table. Everyday, she pull them all out, crawls up under the table, and flips through her books.

I heart Puffs

Audrey loves Gerber Puffs and it's motivating her to get better with her pinchers. Last week she was able to get the puff from point A to point B for the first time.

Bath Time

Good morning, Sunshine!

Grown up food

Audrey starting taking a real interest in our food this month. She still eats homemade baby food for her meals (which I'm making a lot chunkier), but she always wants a bite of (umm, I mean half of) whatever I have for myself. So now she gets her 3 meals a day plus snacks on my food. Once she has more than two teeth we'll stop the baby food. This is one of the first times we shared a meal- homemade pasta e fagoli soup.
