Happy St. Patrick's Day

5 months old in the rocking chair

Here's Audrey's monthly rocking chair picture. She hasn't changed a whole lot since the last one, but that's because her 4 month picture was 2 weeks late.

Toys, Sleeping on Side

Aunt Jen got Audrey this toy for Christmas. She can spin the pinwheel now. It's amazing how she's suddenly able to work her toys. Two weeks ago she wouldn't even look at them!

Chris came up with a new technique to get Audrey to fall asleep- pin one arm down with the Glow Worm and squeeze the belly to activate the light and music, put the Whoozit in the other arm so she can pet it. It works!Audrey likes to sleep on her side now, but only the right side. Sometimes she's on her playmat, it's suddenly quiet, and she's passed out. When Cary and Kim were visiting last week, she rolled from her back to her belly for the first time while on the mat and had an amazing smile filled with pride when she looked up and realized everything was different. She did it again today and started to cry because she couldn't figure out how to turn back onto her back. The poor kid hates tummy time, but is now imposing it on herself!

Diaper Change

Starting Solids

Last Friday we started giving Audrey 1 Tablespoon of rice cereal mixed with breast milk 2 times a day. It doesn't look like it in these pictures, but she's actually doing really well with the cereal. And I'm slowly improving at actually getting the cereal in her mouth :-)

I've also given her formula a couple times this last week. She hasn't been nursing well and I thought maybe it was my milk. We put her on baby Zantac and that's actually helped tremendously. It appears that she had reflux and that was causing the problem. She has always refused a bottle, so I was impressed to see her holding it since she's only had it a couple times. What a smartie!

Cary and Kim Visit

Cary and Kim came to visit us the weekend before last. We had a good time shopping, eating Mexican food, watching a movie, hunting down a 7-11 slurpee, and (of course) lavishing attention upon Audrey.

Cary and Kim bought Audrey two little stuffed animals- a puppy and what we think is a pink firefly. She really likes them, as well as her new cell phone.

I like this picture. It looks like Audrey and Cary are having a "moment".

Unfortuantely, I was not the hostest with the mostest. I came down with a stomach bug near the end of their visit. I was not a happy camper for the next few days. Next time they come I'll try to make up for it :-) As a side note, I've had this blanket since I was born. Chris hates it, but it makes me feel better.

Grandma Izland Visits

My mom came to visit us last Sunday-Wednesday. The boys (daddy and Perry) were working, so us girls had a fun time all by ourselves! This was the most time I've spent with my mom in years and I really enjoyed it. It was nice for her to see Audrey in her own environment and see how she is throughout the day. We played, went shopping, cooked, had our picture taken, and had an all around good time. We hope she can come visit more in the future!

This is a picture of us taken over Adam's wedding. I didn't have it when I posted those pictures.

Audrey loves anything that lights up and makes music
In the last week or so Audrey has started loving her feet.

Audrey is fascinated by the frog hanging above her.

She likes to touch, hold, and put in her mouth, stuffed animals and soft rattles.

We tried to put Audrey in this old dress of mine, but she was too big! I guess they didn't put sizes in clothes back in those days.

Blanket Babies

Grandma loves pictures with the blanket draped over the baby's head. After she got back home she found this picture of me. She couldn't believe how similar Audrey and I looked!

While she was here we also had pictures taken of the three of us (shown on a previous posting). Afterwards Grandma was so inspired that she wanted to take posed pictures of Audrey at home.

Grandma's yellow baby dress

My mom kept a yellow dress that she wore when she was baptized as a baby in 1953. The picture below is me wearing it in 1977. The rest are of Audrey in the same dress with her Grandma. Hopefully, we can find a picture of my mom in it too!

Audrey's first babysitter

The first thing I did when Grandma said she was coming to visit was make a hair appointment! Grandma was Audrey's first babysitter. They had lots of fun together while I was gone. Audrey had tummytime...

Played in the jumper...

And posed for pictures with her Valentine's day teddy bears...

Made music on her play mat...

And got a workout playing with all the fun toys on the exersaucer...

I couldn't believe everything they did in the time I was gone!
